Unit: The Respiratory Therapist program supports both new graduates and experienced professionals through a structured 12-month RT Residency Program, a defined Clinical Career Ladder, and flexible self-scheduling. The residency helps new therapists transition into professional practice through hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, ongoing education, critical care training, and advanced procedures. Respiratory therapists can progress from RCP I through RCP IV, with opportunities for increased responsibilities, recognition, and compensation as they gain experience, earn advanced credentials, or pursue higher education. The program also emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.
Schedule: 3 x 12 hour shifts per week. Shift: Day (06:00-18:30) or Night (18:00-06:30) available. Holiday are assigned and every 3rd weekend

Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Graduate position transitions the new graduate into a Respiratory Care Practitioner role post-graduation. The individual will take the skills and knowledge gained in school and clinical experience to work directly with a preceptor to become competent with all equipment, modalities and clinical patient assessments needed to care for patients in the hospital setting. The Respiratory Care Graduate position will provide direct patient care in accordance with the hospital's objectives, policies and procedures and display the core values of Froedtert under supervision of a licensed RCP.
Experience Description
Successful completion of a course of study in Respiratory Care is required. Clinical experience in hospital, home care or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
Education Description
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with an Associates Degree is required. Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with Bachelors Degree is preferred.
Training Description
Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care ( AARC ) is preferred.
Licensure Description
Staff must produce a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the State of Wisconsin with in 120 days from date of graduation. Staff who fail to meet the requirements will be placed into progressive corrective per policy FH-HR.001. (If full application is in review by the State of Wisconsin Licensing board the individual will not progress into the corrective action per policy FH-HR.001). Basic Life Support ( BLS ) is required. ACLS is preferred.

Requirements
Candidates must have successfully completed an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and hold an Associate degree. A valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license from the State of Wisconsin and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
