Job Description

Blackburn Center PMHNP | Central City Concern

Imagine practicing psychiatry where it matters most, right alongside primary care, pharmacy, and substance use treatment, all under one roof.

At Central City Concern’s Blackburn Center, our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a full member of a multi-disciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, client-centered care to people affected by homelessness. You will evaluate, prescribe, and consult, with colleagues down the hall to collaborate with every day.

After five years of recruiting for CCC, I can tell you this role is for clinicians who want their expertise to open doors for people who have too often been left out. If that sounds like you, we would love to talk.

Use Your Full Clinical Skill Set

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and use psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions, with full prescriptive authority in Oregon.
  • Prescribe and manage medications that support substance use recovery, including buprenorphine, naltrexone, and acamprosate.
  • Provide brief psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, suicide assessment, and crisis intervention, and practice independently while seeking consultation when it helps your patients.

Collaborate in a True Integrated Care Model

  • Work side by side with primary care, integrated mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and an on-site pharmacy.
  • Offer clinical consultation to behavioral health and primary care colleagues, including other CCC practitioners.
  • Join staff meetings and case conferences where interdisciplinary expertise shapes individual treatment plans.

Make a Difference for Our Community

  • Deliver nonjudgmental, compassionate, and culturally responsive care to vulnerable, complex populations, with Spanish-language skills a plus.
  • Help shape how the clinic runs by identifying workflow improvements and contributing to review of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Keep growing through training opportunities in both behavioral and primary care.
