Job DetailsJob Location: Kansas City, MO- AH Atchison - Kansas City, MO 64118Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Doctorate DegreeTravel Percentage: Travel Between Amberwell LocationsJob Shift: DayJob Category: Providers - Physicians - Mid-LevelsJOB DESCRIPTION: The Hospitalist is a key member of the inpatient acute medical unit team. The Hospitalist will work under the direction of the Medical Director of Inpatient Services. The Hospitalist position will be responsible for the 21-bed inpatient acute medical unit. This position offers excellent variety as one will work with a multidisciplinary team that includes case management, pharmacy, social work, dietician, therapy, and nurses, all of whom can help with placing orders determined on rounds, discharge planning, etc. Enjoy a manageable workload of an average daily census of nine to twelve patients, not to exceed twenty-one patients, including a maximum of four ICU patients. This position also networks with other hospitals and departments to provide the best overall consultations for our patients. As a flexible part of this position, once rounds are finished, documentation and orders can be completed off site until the Hospitalist rounds the next day. Duties may include but are not limited to: Able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently. Provide excellent patient care and recommendations for treatment plans for our patients. Update patient information and charts with the current findings and treatment recommendations. Completion of all documentation as required in the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and Medical Staff Bylaws. Order tests for healthcare staff to administer, review and interpret test findings. Respond to questions and concerns from patients about their health care and well-being health. Discuss proper nutrition, hygiene, and self-care with patients to promote good health. Understand and follow safe work practices. Ensure that all Amberwell procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Work a flexible schedule.
