Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Genetic Counselor to join a collaborative, highly experienced genetics team. This fully remote opportunity allows you to provide meaningful guidance to patients across the United States while helping them better understand their genetic risks and make informed healthcare decisions.
The primary focus of this position will be hereditary cancer genetic counseling, including both pre-test counseling and results discussions. You will work alongside a large team of genetic counselors and medical geneticists in a supportive environment that values clinical excellence, patient experience, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Provide remote genetic counseling to patients throughout the United States
Conduct pre-test counseling and discuss genetic testing results
Counsel patients primarily regarding hereditary cancer risks
Clearly explain complex genetic information in an understandable and compassionate manner
Support patients in understanding testing options, potential outcomes, and next steps
Collaborate with genetic counselors, medical geneticists, and other healthcare professionals
Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance the overall patient experience
Contribute to educational and research initiatives as opportunities arise
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional patient documentation
What We're Looking For
Master's Degree in Genetics or Genetic Counseling – Required
Board Certification through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) – Required
Strong communication and patient counseling skills
Ability to provide high-quality care effectively in a remote environment
Experience with hereditary cancer counseling is highly desirable
Multi-state genetic counseling licensure is preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
