Wage Range: $48.66 - $77.84 per hour

Job Summary

Performs both obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examination including the biometry and anatomy survey. Works collaboratively and under the direction of Board-Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.

Primary Duties

Performs ultrasound examinations of patients.

Assists with ultrasound-guidance during in-office procedures as needed and requested by providers. Procedures may include but are not limited to: Sonohysterograms, Essure, Novasure and IUD placements.

Promotes good public relations between patients, family members, clinic, hospital, and community by fostering a friendly, positive, encouraging, sympathetic atmosphere in the relationships between staff and patients.

Communicates to patient constantly, in lay language, on the status of the examination/procedure, always maintaining patient's confidence.

  • May provide portable examinations at bedside as requested by attending physicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience

REQUIRED for the position

  • Successful completion of two-year certified sonographer course
  • ARDMS-certified in obstetrics and gynecology within two years of hire
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire

DESIRED for the position

  • ARDMS-certified in obstetrics and gynecology
  • 1 year of experience in ultrasound setting
  • 6 months experience in OB and GYN ultrasound
  • 1st Trimester Nuchal Translucency Certified
