Job Description

Description. This contract position offers an exceptional opportunity to engage in patient care within a dynamic medical practice environment, delivering high-quality services to our community.

In this role, you will contribute significantly by assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiovascular conditions. Your expertise will help advance the quality of care we provide, ensuring that our patients receive comprehensive and compassionate treatment. Join us in our mission to improve heart health in Kankakee and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with cardiovascular diseases
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care
  • Stay current with evolving cardiological practices and treatments
  • Engage in follow-up care and patient education initiatives
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately
  • Participate in medical staff meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and training to other healthcare staff as needed

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology
  • At least 2 years of cardiology experience preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and a passion for patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Current medical licensure in the state of practice

Schedule: 24-hour in-house call, Monday 4:30p to the weekend

Setting: Inpatient

Patient Volume: 16 per day

Duties: Cath lab procedures, stress tests, echo reads, consults for phone calls

Support Staff: NP and a team of fellows

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
