Description

This contract, on-site position is ideal for an Associate-level physician looking to deliver high-quality inpatient care within a dynamic Medical Practice environment.

As a Locum Hospitalist, you will provide comprehensive medical services to hospitalized patients, working closely with nurses, specialists, and allied health professionals. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring timely diagnoses, effective treatment plans, and seamless care coordination throughout each patient's stay. This position offers the opportunity to expand your clinical experience while maintaining a flexible contract schedule..

Responsibilities

  • Admit, evaluate, and manage patients admitted to the hospitalist service.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and obtain detailed medical histories.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and rapid response calls within the facility.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Hospital Medicine.
  • Board certification or active board eligibility in the relevant specialty.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Associate-level clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard medical software.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the locum contract.

Schedule: Night shifts

120 beds

Patient Volume: 18-20 per day

Strong clinical support

EMR: Meditech

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & lodging

A-rated medical malpractice
