Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team as an independent contractor. This flexible position offers a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week with in-person availability for at least 16 hours per week (mix of days with at least 2 afternoon/evenings). While 24 hours is the baseline, we welcome the possibility of additional hours based on availability.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in establishing and expanding psychiatric services, working closely with counselors as part of an integrated care team. The position is structured as a 1099 contract, offering a combination of in-person and telehealth ambulatory work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to patients as scheduled.
  • Collaborate closely with the designated physician to ensure effective patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a professional and patient-centered approach at all times.
  • Manages the healthcare of patients with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and preserves dignity and rights.

Prescribes medications and non-pharmacological therapies based on the patient’s diagnoses, health history, and age.

  • Encourages positive health behaviors through education and counseling.
  • Applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice.
  • Performs designated procedures.
  • Ensures compliance.

Qualifications and skills

  • Required Board License – PMHNP.
  • Ability to commit to at least 24 hours of availability per week.
  • Willingness to work more hours as needed
  • Need to be open with 1099
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Ability to function as an effective member of an integrated healthcare team.
  • Two years relevant clinical health experience preferred.
