The Genetic Counselor I possesses the technical knowledge and clinical skills necessary to manage/coordinate clinical risk assessment/genetic evaluations in a manner consistent with all requirements of the health care delivery system-medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory. The genetic counselor works cooperatively with genetic counselors, medical director(s), genetic assistant(s), as well as with specialty teams within the areas of oncology, cardiology and/or perinatology/obstetrics/gynecology. The genetic counselor is also responsible for participating in conferences, research activities and educational events as a multidisciplinary team member, as applicable. This position will focus on prenatal and oncology patients.

Position: Genetics Counselor I

Shift: 40 hours per week (Monday through Fridays)

Experience

• 1, Minimum of 2 years of relevant genetics experience (includes graduate training).
• 2. Minimum of 2 years of practice in specific subspecialty

Education

1. Master’s Degree in Genetics/Genetic Counseling or equivalent.

2. Sub specialty-appropriate education required. Sub-specialties including but not limited to oncology, cardiology, prenatal/perinatology and/or adult genetics.

Licensures/Certifications

1. ABGC/ABMG Board Certified/Eligible required

2. Current license to practice in Pennsylvania.

3. Membership in related field professional organization.
