As part of the Respiratory Therapy department, you'll play a vital role in delivering critical care to patients in Intensive Care Units, ensuring they receive life-support, resuscitation, and therapeutic interventions.

Role Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll provide essential life-support and therapeutic services primarily to critical care patients in Intensive Care Units. You'll perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, maintain clinical expertise across various business units, and collaborate with physicians, patients, and colleagues to ensure high-quality care. Your work directly impacts patient outcomes and supports the mission of Henry Ford Health.

What You Will Do

• Deliver life-support, resuscitation, and medical gases therapy to critical care patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
• Maintain clinical expertise and provide support across various business units as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and physicians regarding patient care needs.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and supervise respiratory therapy students and externs.
• Complete necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Associate of Science Degree (minimum) or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• Recent graduate or two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a Tertiary Hospital.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Current Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Michigan (or obtained within 90 days of graduation for new graduates).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy.
