Position Summary
The Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner / Injector is a vital member of our clinical team, responsible for delivering exceptional aesthetic treatments while collaborating with the physician and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care. This role requires a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) with strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and an artistic eye for facial aesthetics.
We are primarily seeking a part-time provider; however, full-time employment may be considered for the right candidate based on experience, qualifications, patient demand, and the needs of the practice. We are looking for a motivated provider who is passionate about growing with our practice, developing their aesthetic practice, and building long-term relationships with patients.
The ideal candidate is committed to helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals through safe, evidence-based treatments while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, patient safety, and customer service. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine medical aesthetics with plastic surgery support in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Aesthetic Patient Care
Perform aesthetic injectable treatments, including neuromodulators (Botox®, Dysport®, etc.), dermal fillers, PRP, and other approved aesthetic procedures within the provider's scope of practice, training, competency, and practice protocols.
Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and assessments, including reviewing relevant medical history, evaluating aesthetic concerns and treatment goals, identifying appropriate treatment options, and determining patient candidacy for aesthetic procedures.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, patient goals, safety considerations, and established standards of care.
Educate patients regarding available treatment options, expected outcomes, potential risks and complications, alternatives, pre-treatment preparation, and post-treatment care.
Obtain and document appropriate informed consent prior to treatment in accordance with practice policies and applicable requirements.
Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR), including assessments, treatment plans, procedures performed, products and dosages utilized, and follow-up recommendations.
Monitor treatment outcomes and provide appropriate follow-up care, including evaluation and management of treatment-related concerns or complications within the provider's scope of practice.
Maintain current knowledge of aesthetic medicine, facial anatomy, injectable products, treatment techniques, patient safety standards, and emerging evidence and technologies.
Clinical Support
Perform appropriate clinical evaluations and provide patient care within the Nurse Practitioner's authorized scope of practice, education, training, and demonstrated competency.
Provide clinical support for plastic surgery patients, which may include postoperative assessments, suture removal, drain removal, dressing changes, wound evaluation and care, and other appropriate clinical services.
Identify abnormal findings, changes in patient condition, contraindications to treatment, and potential complications and initiate appropriate clinical intervention, consultation, referral, or escalation of care.
Recognize and appropriately respond to medical emergencies and adverse treatment reactions in accordance with established clinical protocols.
Collaborate with the supervising/collaborating physician and other healthcare providers as required by applicable law, regulation, clinical circumstances, and practice policies.
Follow all applicable prescribing, medication management, and controlled-substance requirements when prescribing or administering medications, if prescribing responsibilities are included in the position.
Operations & Patient Experience
Provide exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming, compassionate, and professional patient experience.
Assist with patient communications, scheduling support, follow-up care, and pre- and post-procedure instructions as necessary.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, storage, documentation, and maintenance of clinical supplies, medications, and injectable products.
Ensure exam rooms, treatment rooms, and clinical work areas remain clean, organized, properly stocked, and compliant with applicable OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and practice requirements.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, aesthetic providers, and administrative staff to promote efficient clinic operations and continuity of care.
Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, product training, and clinical training to remain current on aesthetic techniques, products, safety protocols, and best practices
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Tennessee, with qualification as a Nurse Practitioner.
Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner through an applicable nationally recognized certifying organization.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure as required for APRN practice in Tennessee.
Prescriptive authority and/or Tennessee Certificate of Fitness, if required for the responsibilities assigned to the position.
- Minimum of two (2) years of aesthetic injection experience required.
- Experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, facial plastics, or medical aesthetics preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of facial anatomy, aesthetic assessment, injectable treatment techniques, and management of potential complications.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities.
- Ability to build patient trust and establish long-term patient relationships.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard computer applications.
Commitment to maintaining all required continuing education, certifications, licenses, and professional credentials.
Schedule
This position is primarily part-time.
Full-time employment may be available for the right candidate based on experience, qualifications, patient demand, and the needs of the practice.
Occasional Saturday availability is welcomed but not required. Saturday hours may be available at our Knoxville location based on patient demand and scheduling needs.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to safely and precisely perform injectable procedures and other clinical tasks.
- Ability to bend, reach, and assist with patient positioning when necessary.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a medical office, plastic surgery, and medical spa environment. The employee will regularly interact with patients, physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and administrative staff while maintaining strict confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to all applicable safety, infection-control, and practice protocols.
