PHARMACIST, Per Diem

This Pharmacy position at UHS is open to pharmacist candidates.

Pharmacists are expanding beyond traditional dispensing roles into clinical consulting, medication management, and remote pharmacy services.

This position is based in Reno, Nevada.

Nevada has no state income tax, which can significantly increase take-home pay compared to high-tax states. For a pharmacist earning $300k, the absence of state income tax can represent $15k–$30k or more in annual savings.

Key skills and qualifications: Pharmacist Certification, Prescription Interpretation, Medication Order Review, Drug Information Resource, Compounding, Dispensing, Patient Profile Monitoring, IV Admixture Preparation. Candidates with experience in these areas may be especially well-suited for this Pharmacy role.

Core responsibilities: The pharmacist interprets physician prescriptions, monitors patient profiles for drug interactions, and provides drug information to medical staff. They also prepare IV admixtures under aseptic conditions and supervise pharmacy department staff.
