Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor

• vision. Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. The Substance Abuse Counselor will play a crucial role in providing substance abuse counseling services to adult Correctional Clients, facilitating group sessions, and implementing evidence-based treatment interventions. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. Duties include, but are not limited to · Develop treatment plans based on each client's individual needs. · Complete and maintain accurate records of progress, services provided, treatment plan, and other required information. · Counsel clients in group sessions, using the approved curriculum provided. · Conduct orientation intake sessions of individuals referred to the program. · Evaluate client participation by monitoring behavior, attitude, and progress.

Qualifications

Education & Work Experience: · Associate Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. · Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC) credentials through the state of WI. · 1 year of experience in counseling. · 1 year of experience working with correctional/AODA clients. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: · Demonstrated ability working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent. · Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and internet. · Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information. · Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
