Job Details: Job Location: Orion - Houston Main - Houston, TX, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Bachelors Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Other Positions, US Heart and Vascular is needing a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to join our team at Orion Medical in Houston, TX Position Summary The Registered Dietitian (RD) creates nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients. RD will use relevant knowledge and training to analyze patients’ health status, goals and dietary restrictions, tracking clients’ dietary intake and progress and educating patients on how to maintain a balanced diet. The RD also provides individualized, disease-specific nutritional counseling with the goal of improving overall health. Requires teaching in a group setting, coaching, counseling, problem-solving and motivational interviewing techniques.

Responsibilities & Duties

Helps promote and coordinate healthy eating habits to prevent and treat illness through super

• vision of food preparation and service, dietary modifications and individual/group education. Provides sound medical advice to patients on healthy eating habits, risk modifications and general health promotion. Presents nutrition workshops and education while engaging patients to be interactive. Provides information to the medical team, including doctors and nurses, for the care of patients in the clinic setting. Performs face-to-face consultation and education as ordered by physician referrals. Is responsible for treatment plan development and documentation for all nutritional related activities. Provides individualized treatment based on program guidelines with peer-reviewed data Maintain accurate, timely documentation and follow HIPAA requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to nutrition care, patient outcomes, or food service operations. Stay current with research, guidelines, and best practices in clinical nutrition. When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or related field. Completion of an accredited dietetic internship. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. State licensure (if applicable). Working knowledge of EMR systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Cardiology practice experience. Master’s degree in nutrition, Dietetics or related field. Why Choose Us?
