ALLY Psychiatry is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join the team at Indian Rivers Behavioral Health in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This is a full-time opportunity providing psychiatric care in a behavioral health setting serving patients who require crisis stabilization and short-term or extended-stay treatment.

Position Highlights

• Full-time PMHNP position
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 4 days on / 3 days off rotating schedule
• Work in a behavioral health and psychiatric care setting
• Care for patients in crisis stabilization, short-term, and extended-stay programs
• Collaborative environment with an interdisciplinary behavioral health team
• Opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management

Responsibilities

• The PMHNP will provide psychiatric services to patients receiving behavioral health treatment, including:
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions within scope of practice
• Provide medication management and monitor treatment response
• Assess patients experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health crises
• Provide ongoing psychiatric care for patients in short-term and extended-stay settings
• Collaborate with nursing, therapists, social workers, and other members of the treatment team
• Participate in treatment planning and clinical documentation
• Provide patient and family education as appropriate

Requirements

• Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
• Active Alabama APRN license or eligibility for Alabama licensure

Prescriptive Authority as Required

• Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, inpatient psychiatry, crisis services, or a related setting preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
