Optimus Heathcare is looking for a part-time ( 8 hours per week) CMO for our Bridgeport location.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the senior clinical leader of the health center, responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse and underserved communities.

The CMO provides strategic leadership of all clinical services, supervises clinical directors, supports and advocates for clinicians, and ensures that clinical operations advance the mission and compliance requirements of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

This role partners with the CEO and executive team to align medical practice with organizational strategy, HRSA and Joint Commission standards, payer programs, and community health needs.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

EDUCATION: Physician with Primary Care Training Board Certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics. A master’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Medical Management, or other health related fields, preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum ten (10) years’ clinical practice experience and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Medical Director or CMO. Prior experience for increasing access to and quality of community-based medical services for Medicare/Medicaid-eligible populations.

Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, knowledge and understanding of healthcare management/operations and finance, experience with physician recruitment, resource management, credentialing, and quality and performance/process improvement. Familiarity with tele-medicine and prior experience a plus
