Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of substance use treatment centers with 18 locations across seven states. We provide evidence-based addiction treatment across the full continuum of care, including detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services.
We are JCAHO- and CARF-accredited and operate in full alignment with ASAM standards. While clinical excellence is foundational, our greatest strength is our people. We are currently hiring Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for our Detox and Residential treatment facility in Fort Collins, CO.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in a detox and residential substance use disorder treatment setting.
This role emphasizes patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance, allowing clinicians to practice thoughtfully in a structured, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment
- Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS)
- Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado
- Valid Colorado medical license
- Active DEA registration
- Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Requirements
Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Colorado along with a valid DEA registration. Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or psychiatry is preferred.
