Responsibilities
About the Role
The Collaborating Physician provides clinical oversight and support to advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants) in accordance with state laws and organizational policies. This role ensures high-quality, compliant patient care through regular chart reviews, clinical guidance, and adherence to evidence-based practices. Matrix Collaborating Physicians:
Serve as the designated collaborating or supervising physician for one or more Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
Review patient charts and clinical documentation timely to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Maintain collaboration agreements and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up to date per state regulations.
Participate in periodic meetings or case reviews with NPs/PAs to discuss clinical performance, care standards, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay informed of state-specific scope of practice laws and ensure compliance.
- Support the organization in maintaining a high standard of patient care through quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications
Skills & Expeience That Shine
- Current, active license in the state of practice (MD/DO)
- Active practice in the state
- 3+ years of clinical experience post residency
- Primary specialty in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- Board Certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred
- Currently not enrolled in the Medicare Opt-Out program
