Medical Director – Publications

Inizio is expanding its footprint in the publication space and is looking for a senior level director to lead the scientific team and provide strategic account oversight. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the department and grow the publication team and business.
The right individual must have strong work experience in the publication space with a focus on Oncology. This is a client-facing role that requires directing client strategy, staff mentoring / management, leading scientific teams in content creation, and partnering with the VPs of scientific and client services and managing director in business development, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Manage scientific team responsible for delivery of a full range of strategic publication focus
Under the guidance of the scientific VP, lead and manage account to ensure the creation of high quality, accurate medical / scientific content with ability to expand management responsibilities as team grows
Develop and grow publication work partnering with VPs of scientific and client services and managing directors
Identify and develop strategic and tactical business recommendations relevant to client strategy and marketplace needs
- Develop / lead / facilitate key strategy workshops
- Demonstrate a high level of comfort articulating scientific and therapeutic information in Oncology
- Foster innovation and collaboration across ApotheCom to position agency as leader in publication work
Additional Requirements
PhD, PharmD, MD with 10+ years of experience of relevant medical communications experience, with an in-depth understanding of publication oncology work
- Track record of successful scientific leadership across several clients/therapeutic categories
- US launch experience required; Global experience is a plus
- Some travel will be required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing staff / direct reports (potentially based across multiple locations)
This position is open to candidates who are looking for a fully remote or hybrid opportunity based in the United States (east coast preferred).

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations.

Requirements
Candidates must hold a PhD, PharmD, or MD with at least 10 years of relevant medical communications experience, specifically in oncology. A proven track record of scientific leadership and experience with US launches are required.
