The Clinical Pharmacist provides specialized Pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes.

Required Qualifications
- BS Pharmacy Degree
- Valid New Mexico Pharmacist license
- Maintain BLS and ACLS Certification
- Minimum of one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
- Clinical Experience
- IV Preparation Certification
- Chemotherapy Preparation Certification
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good leadership qualities
- Cooperative
- Energetic
- Good computer skills
Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, implements and continually improves pharmaceutical care programs
- Provides pharmaceutical care to patients
- Assists Manager in preparation of department policies and procedures and protocols
- Assists Manager in preparation for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings
- Ensures that department education needs are met
- Provides medication management education to hospital licensed health professionals
- Assists in precepting pharmacy students

- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions
Subject to hazardous drug exposure (i. e. antineoplastics, antibiotics, anesthetic vapors and others)
- Subject to lifting twenty-five (25) pounds
- Standing or walking much of the shift
Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Pharmacist designs and implements pharmaceutical care programs while providing specialized services to improve patient therapeutic outcomes. They also assist in department policy development, medication management education, and the precepting of pharmacy students.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a BS Pharmacy degree and a valid New Mexico Pharmacist license, along with BLS and ACLS certifications. A minimum of one year of hospital pharmacy experience is required for this role.
