Amana Healthcare is seeking an experienced Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join its Mental Health Services team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children, adolescents, and their families, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary environment while promoting the emotional, psychological, and developmental wellbeing of young patients.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents presenting with emotional, behavioral, developmental, and mental health disorders.

Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, psychotic disorders, and behavioral disorders.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.

• Provide ongoing psychiatric care and follow-up assessments in outpatient and multidisciplinary settings.
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, pediatricians, social workers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Offer family counseling, psychoeducation, and support to patients and caregivers.
• Participate in crisis intervention and risk assessment for vulnerable patients.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs.
• Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, teaching activities, and continuing medical education programs.
• Support the development and growth of child and adolescent mental health services within the organization.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Psychiatry.
• Fellowship or subspecialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Consultant qualification recognized under the UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), such as:
• American Board Certification
• Canadian Fellowship

CCT/CCST

• Minimum of 3 years' post-certification experience as a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.
• Valid DOH License as Consultant Psychiatry or eligibility for licensure in Abu Dhabi.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex child and adolescent mental health conditions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and family-centered care.
