JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Educational Audiologist is responsible for providing direct audiological services to children and students in all age groups, including In-services, consultation, technical assistance, testing, hearing assistive technology (selection, fitting, monitoring), verification of hearing aids and cochlear implants, counseling and rehabilitation. These services are offered primarily in schools and in homes.
EDUCATION:
Master's Degree or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology. Must have either a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. (ASHA) or have American Board of Audiology (ABA) Certification. Must possess or be eligible for current state licensure in Audiology. Certain positions may also require a Hearing Aid Dispensing License. Certifications must be maintained throughout tenure.
EXPERIENCE:
Some experience in educational setting preferred.
