Job description

Adelphi is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide speech therapy support services in a school setting in San Antonio, Texas.
The ideal candidate will assist with speech therapy services, student support, documentation, and implementation of speech therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) while supporting student [communication and individualized therapy goals].

Requirements

  • Appropriate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant credential or certification as required by the State of Texas.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Ability to provide speech therapy support services in accordance with assigned student IEPs and SLP direction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervising SLP with the implementation of students’ speech therapy services.
  • Provide assigned speech therapy activities under the direction and supervision of the SLP.
  • Support students in achieving speech and communication goals identified in their IEPs.
  • Assist with therapy activities and exercises appropriate to assigned students’ needs.
  • Follow treatment plans, schedules, and instructions established by the supervising SLP.
  • Monitor and document student participation and progress during assigned therapy activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to services provided.
  • Follow District standards, procedures, and applicable requirements for student services.
  • Communicate student needs and observations to the supervising SLP.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and comply with school and District requirements.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
