Job Description

About Company

At Gemini Healthcare, we are more than just a nursing home company; we are a passionate team dedicated to redefining the way seniors experience care and support in Texas. With a dynamic blend of expertise, empathy, and innovation, we strive to create an environment where every resident feels cherished, respected, and empowered to live life to the fullest.

About the Role

As a Physical Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and improve their overall physical function and mobility.

You will assess patients' physical abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to promote healing and prevent further injury. Your work will involve collaborating closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

The ultimate goal of this role is to restore patients' independence and enhance their quality of life through evidence-based physical therapy techniques. You will also contribute to patient education, empowering individuals to maintain their health and prevent future physical impairments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid state license to practice physical therapy in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques.
  • Experience in assessing and treating sports injuries and geriatric rehabilitation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Sports Physical Therapy (SCS).
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary healthcare settings or sports medicine clinics.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation software.
  • Additional training or certification in geriatric rehabilitation or chronic pain management.
  • Participation in ongoing professional development and continuing education courses.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess physical conditions and functional limitations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical best practices.
  • Apply manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises to improve patient mobility and reduce pain.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic specialists, sports medicine professionals, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills

The required skills such as physical therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, and manual therapy are essential for evaluating patient conditions and delivering targeted treatment interventions that promote recovery and functional improvement.

Expertise in sports medicine and sports injuries enables the therapist to design specialized rehabilitation programs tailored to athletes and active individuals.

Geriatric rehabilitation skills are crucial for addressing the unique needs of older adults, helping them maintain independence and manage age-related physical challenges. Orthopedics knowledge supports the understanding of musculoskeletal disorders and guides effective treatment planning.

These skills are applied daily to assess patient progress, modify therapies as needed, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive and patient-centered care.
