We’re seeking an experienced Director of Nursing – Emergency Room to lead clinical and operational services within a fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ER nursing leader who is passionate about patient care, team development, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Lead daily Emergency Department clinical and operational activities
Ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care
Lead and develop nursing staff and leadership teams
Drive quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and Joint Commission standards
Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and inspections
Lead emergency preparedness and disaster readiness programs
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and service-line initiatives
Support Emergency Department growth, performance, and operational improvement
Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing teams, and hospital leadership
What We’re Looking For
BSN required
Active Florida RN license
Minimum 2 years of healthcare management experience
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room/ED experience
Strong nursing leadership and team-management skills
Knowledge of hospital operations, regulatory compliance, and patient-care standards
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
Required Certifications
BLS/CPR – AHA
ACLS – AHA
PALS – AHA
CPI – within 30 days of hire
TNCC – within 180 days of hire
NIH Stroke Certification – within 60 days of hire
Preferred
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field
Previous Emergency Department leadership experience
Experience with emergency preparedness and disaster management
