Yale New Haven Health has an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Medicine Fellow at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT! It’s a unique one-year program that provides training in academic medicine, quality improvement, hospital administration, and leadership. The focus on hospital administration and leadership is unlike any other Hospital Medicine Fellowship in the US. The program ensures 40% protected time for non-clinical activities.

  • Gain experience in hospital operations, finance, and leadership through meetings with senior leaders.
  • Lead a quality improvement project supported by a business proposal.
  • Complete formal courses in medical education, quality improvement, and leadership.
  • Participate in the Bridgeport Hospital Physician Leadership Academy and Yale’s faculty development program.
  • Receive individual coaching from the Institute for Excellent.
  • Take part in clinical teaching activities, including morning reports and student lectures.
  • Engage in activities tailored to your interests and professional goals.

Qualifications

Education

M. D. or D. O., with completion of an ACGME – accredited Internal Medicine Residency.

Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Internal Medicine.

Licensure

  • Hold a valid Connecticut medical license
  • Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification.
  • Must obtain attending medical staff privileges at respective YNHHS entity.
