Work Shift Job Description Position Overview: Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the Windy Hill location. This is a full-time position where you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to evidence-based practice, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • ptoms. Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services as needed, including risk assessment and management of patients with suicidal or homicidal ideation. Consultation: Offer psychiatric consultations to other medical professionals within the Wellstar system, providing expertise on complex cases. Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in psychiatry by participating in continuing education, attending relevant conferences, and engaging in peer consultations. Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards, as well as Wellstar policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Training: Completed residency in Psychiatry from an accredited program. Licensure: Current and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Georgia. Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry. Experience: Prior experience in outpatient psychiatric care is preferred but not required. Skills: Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using electronic medical records (Epic experience preferred). Key Responsibilities

The psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans for adult patients. They will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and provide crisis intervention services as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an accredited residency in Psychiatry. A current, unrestricted medical license in Georgia and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry are required.
