As a Resident Advisor, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, supportive, and respectful residential environment for our clients and staff. You’ll be a consistent presence in the program—helping residents navigate daily challenges, encouraging positive decision-making, and ensuring program expectations are followed.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is dependable, observant, calm under pressure, and passionate about supporting others.

What You’LL Do

  • Create a safe and supportive environment by monitoring resident activities and ensuring program guidelines and safety protocols are followed.
  • Be a visible presence throughout the program by conducting regular rounds of the buildings and grounds to promote safety, security, and smooth facility operations.

  • Provide ongoing supervision and oversight of client activities while maintaining a respectful and professional approach.
  • Keep accurate records by completing timely documentation using designated software and systems.
  • Respond confidently to challenging situations, using conflict resolution and crisis management techniques to help maintain safety and stability.
  • Assist with non-clinical intake activities and other routine program needs as required.
  • Stay attentive to changes in behavior, recognizing potential concerns and monitoring client movement appropriately.
  • Transport clients when needed, operating a program vehicle safely and responsibly.
  • Pitch in where needed and perform other duties that support the success of the residential program.

  • Comfort using computers and basic data-management systems for record keeping
  • Basic knowledge of conflict resolution and crisis management techniques
  • Ability to drive when required by the program
  • Reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency required
  • 0–2 years of experience; relevant experience is welcome but not required

Physical & Essential Functions

This is an active, on-site position. The role may include:

  • Frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting
  • Frequent to constant reaching, handling, and communication
  • Driving as required by assigned job duties
  • Rare climbing or crawling
  • Infrequent balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Ability to walk up to four flights of stairs consecutively, depending on the location
  • Frequent use of near- and midrange vision, visual accommodation, and communication skills
  • Occasional use of far visual acuity, depth perception, and field of vision
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer
  • Rare tasting/smelling and infrequent use of color vision

Why This Role Matters

Every day, your presence can make a difference. Whether you’re helping a client work through a difficult moment, maintaining a safe environment, or simply being a dependable person they can count on, the Resident Advisor helps create the stability and structure that make a residential program successful.

If you’re someone who cares about people, communicates well, stays calm under pressure, and wants your work to have a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
