About the Company
Chesapeake Cardiac Care is an independent, physician-led cardiovascular and sleep medicine practice that has served Prince George's County and the surrounding region for more than 25 years. Our team delivers personalized, prevention-focused care in a collaborative, single-site outpatient setting.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient cardiology team. You will manage a diverse patient population in a clinic-based role with no hospital call and no inpatient rounding.
What You'll Do
Perform comprehensive evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and established cardiology patients.
Diagnose and manage hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, ddyslipdemia, and other cardiovascular conditions.
Order, interpret, and follow up on ECGS, echocardiograms, stress testing, ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and laboratory studies.
Manage medications, including anticoagulation and guideline-directed therapy, and educate patients on prevention and lifestyle
- Coordinate care with primary care, specialists, and hospital teams.
- Document accurately and promptly in the EHR, Athena.
What You'll Need
Required
- Active Maryland APRN license (CRNP) and national NP certification (AANP or ANCC)
- 3 to 5 years of NP experience in cardiology
- Current BLS; ACLS preferred
- DEA Registration and Maryland CDS registration, or the ability to obtain them prior to starting
- Strong clinical judgement, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred
- Experience with athenaOne EHR is an asset
- Familiarity with cardiac imaging and stress testing workflows
- Interest in sleep medicine, preventive cardiology, or clinical research
Schedule: Full time, 8 hour days, outpatient clinic hours
No weekend or hospital call
