Job Description
Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Outpatient Adult Psychiatrist with an interest in Addiction Medicine to join our staff.
- Salary Range: $295,008 - $330,000
- Sign-on Bonus: up to $200,000
Job Description & Responsibilities
The Department of Psychiatry Service Line includes the Division of Inpatient Psychiatry (14 bed acute Inpatient Psychiatry unit, consults to Med-Surg inpatients at several affiliate hospitals, and consults to the Emergency Departments), and the Division of Outpatient Psychiatry (OMH-licensed clinic in Cooperstown NY) with satellites throughout the Bassett Network and extensive Tele psychiatry services
- A diverse psychiatric team of MDs, PMHNPs, and Therapists
- Responsible for psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Prescribe and manage medications
- NP collaboration/supervision
- Occasional consult Liaison coverage including tele psych to other hospitals in the network
- Combination of tele psych and in person coverage
- Inpatient call no more than 1:5 weekdays and 1 weekend per month
- Interaction with medical students as well as Internal Medicine and Transitional residents
- Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
- Become a part of Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
- BC/BE Adult Psychiatry
- Completion of an accredited USA Psychiatry Residency
- New York State license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS Certification Required
DEA Required

Compensation
Salary Range: $295,008 - $330,000
This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standard
Sign-on Bonus: up to $200,000
Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment.

Key Responsibilities
The psychiatrist will perform psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and provide clinical coverage across both inpatient and outpatient settings. They will also collaborate with nurse practitioners and participate in the education of medical students and residents.
Requirements
Candidates must be BC/BE in Adult Psychiatry and hold or be eligible for a New York State medical license. A completed accredited USA Psychiatry residency, BLS certification, and DEA registration are required.
