Summary of Job Duties

Make a meaningful impact on patient health as a Registered Dietitian! In this role, you will provide individualized nutritional care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary inpatient care team to support positive patient outcomes.

The Registered Dietitian assesses patients’ nutritional needs, develops appropriate recommendations, and documents care in the electronic medical record. This position also provides education to patients, families, professional staff, students, and dietetic interns. Additional opportunities include collaborating with medical staff and other caregivers, delivering presentations within the community, and helping prepare the next generation of nutrition professionals.

This position works under the general direction of the Nutrition Department Outpatient Team Lead. We welcome candidates with varying levels of clinical nutrition experience and offer multiple career levels based on education, certification, and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications—Registered Dietitian
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
• Registered Dietitian (RD)
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Arkansas
• Completion of a dietetic internship
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Candidates with all levels of nutrition experience are encouraged to apply

• Previous clinical experience
• Current Registered Dietitian credential and licensure in the State of Arkansas
• Registered Dietitian Career Levels
• Registered Dietitian II
• Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian credentials
• At least one year of clinical experience
• Registered Dietitian III
• Master’s degree or specialty certification required
• At least two years of experience
• Precepts dietetic interns participating in the UAMS internship program
• Registered Dietitian IV
• At least four years of experience
• Master’s degree required
• Specialty certification required ​

Additional Information

Responsibilities:

• Assessing the nutritional needs of the patient and making recommendations to meet those needs.

• Documentation in the electronic medical record.

• Education of family, students and other professional staff.

• Teaching, discussing with medical staff and other caregivers the patient needs.

• Clerical and office duties.

• Presentations outside the hospital as required.

• Other duties as assigned.
