Full time Shift: Evening Shift Description: Job Title: Emergency Clinical Pharmacist Employment Type: Full Time Shift: 40hrs/wk, evening shifts. Per department needs. Location: Holy Cross Health - Silver Spring, MD Position Purpose The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist functions as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Department and provides comprehensive pharmacy services. Primary responsibilities include adult and pediatric code response, code STEMI/stroke team response, drug information consults, prospective medication order review, and other clinical consults including pharmacokinetic consults. The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist interprets and evaluates physician orders in order to prepare and dispense appropriate medications to patients, manages drug therapy, reviews, accesses and maintains patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplication to provide a consistent quality of patient care and appropriate drug therapy. The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist may assist in developing competencies for the department. Daily job functions include assisting in the supervision of Pharmacy Technicians in distributive functions and departmental operations under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager and Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities include working to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs, and improve quality. Requirements: Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy PGY1 Pharmacy Residency required* Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification – current Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist (BCCCP) or achieved within 1 year of hire *Three years of experience in critical care/emergency medicine plus current BPS certification required in lieu of PGY1 pharmacy residency Pay Range: $58.55 - $90.78 USD Hourly Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
