  • vision of direct service mental health counseling to the undergraduate student body. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements below are intended to describe the principal duties of the person or persons assigned to this job. Serve as the University’s Health Educator, and in that capacity: coordinate the University’s alcohol education program, including the facilitation of AlcoholEdu, and the creation of activities associated with the annual National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week; design and coordinate the Peer Health Education program including the recruitment, selection, training, and super
  • vision of the Peer Health Educators (PHEs); as necessary, supervise undergraduate Lasell student (s) serving as Peer Health Intern(s); collaborate with colleagues across the University community to devise a comprehensive menu of health-related programs, to be presented in campus-wide settings and (on request) in the residential buildings. Provide direct service to members of the Lasell University student body: conduct drop-in and intake sessions; provide short term counseling; provide case management services for off-campus referrals when long term therapy and/or specialized treatment is required; coordinate care with collateral off-campus providers and consulting psychiatrist, when deemed necessary; respond to student mental health emergencies; work with Director to coordinate mental health care for students returning to campus after psychiatric hospitalizations; maintain appropriate client records, including case documentation in confidential files, and scheduling and data collection through Titanium. Provide consultation to Lasell staff and faculty, and families of students, within guidelines of client confidentiality. Promote and provide campus-wide programming on topics including: awareness/prevention of substance abuse and mental illness, sexual assault, and domestic violence; design and implement training/education programs for Residential Life staff, Orientation Leaders, and other student leaders on these (and other) topics. Communication: students and their families; faculty, staff and administration; establish and maintain close working relationships with various Student Affairs functional units, Campus Police, the Advising Office and the Academic Achievement Center. Requirements

Candidates must hold a master's degree in a counseling-related field such as social work, psychology, or counseling. Professional licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or psychology) is required.
