Overview

Family Dental Group- Hudson Valley is looking for a Full-Time Dental Hygienist In Training in Lake Katrine, NY, to join our clinical team. If you are currently in Hygiene school, this is a great opportunity for you! We are committed to providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Position Overview

The Dental Hygienist in Training is for anyone that has finished hygiene school and is waiting for a license or is currently in hygiene school and expects to graduate within the next 6 months. You will be an integral part of our care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment while waiting for your active state Hygiene license. We are passionate about preventive oral health care and value our hygiene team. Join our dynamic dental practice as a Dental Hygienist Trainee today!

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization
  • Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress
  • Update patient health history and chart treatment progress
  • Expose and develop radiographs (if certified)
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments
  • Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations and office recall systems
  • Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with the industry regulations including HIPAA & OSHA

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED (Required)
  • Radiology certification (if applicable)
  • CPR certification (Preferred but can be obtained upon hiring)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care and comfort

Currently in Hygiene school and expect to fulfill requirements to become a licensed hygienist within the next 6 months.
