Job description

Beacon Behavioral Inpatient in Bunkie is seeking to add PRN Therapists to our team.  

Our Therapist in Bunkie play a critical role in delivering comprehensive therapeutic care to patients within our inpatient hospital setting, aiming to improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This position involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support recovery and enhance quality of life. Our therapist collaborates closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care. They also provide education and support to patients and their families to facilitate understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process. Ultimately, the role contributes significantly to patient outcomes by promoting healing, functional independence, and emotional resilience during hospitalization.

Minimum Qualifications

* A master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, or a related therapeutic discipline required.  Acceptable licenses:  LMSW, LCSW, LPC, P-LPC
* Demonstrated clinical experience in an inpatient hospital or similar healthcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, patient assessment, and treatment planning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with diverse patient populations including adult, and geriatric patients.
* Certification in specialized therapeutic modalities or advanced clinical training.
* Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare documentation standards.
* Ability to participate in research or quality improvement projects related to therapeutic care.
* Bilingual skills or cultural competency training to better serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities

* Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and psychological conditions to determine therapy needs.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical best practices.
* Provide direct therapeutic interventions, including physical, occupational, or mental health therapies, tailored to patient goals.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and update treatment plans.
* Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
* Educate patients and their families about therapy goals, techniques, and strategies to support recovery and long-term wellness.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related discipline and possess a valid license such as LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or P-LPC. Previous clinical experience in an inpatient hospital or similar healthcare setting is required.
