Suncoast Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing outpatient team in Lutz, Florida.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric care in an outpatient setting, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing follow-up care.

The ideal candidate is an experienced PMHNP who can confidently manage their own patient panel while also valuing collaboration and consultation with other members of the clinical team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
2. Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
3. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
4. Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
5. Monitor treatment effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments to medication and treatment plans.
6. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.
7. Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
8. Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
9. Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and standards.
10. Remain current on evidence-based practices, emerging treatments, and developments within psychiatric care.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

* Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
* Current PMHNP-BC certification
* Active Florida APRN license
* Active DEA registration
* Previous experience practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
* Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management skills
* Ability to independently manage an outpatient patient panel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
* Collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing and possess an active Florida APRN license and DEA registration. Previous experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is required, along with PMHNP-BC certification.
