Join our dedicated Respiratory Therapy team at Harris Regional, an 86-bed
facility offering a full range of services including general surgery, women’s
care, intensive care, and emergency services. Our team is committed to
delivering exceptional respiratory care, continuously seeking ways to enhance
the patient and family experience. We work closely with all providers and
caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every patient we serve.
How you’ll contribute
A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role
Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors,
records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes,
current research, and best practices.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition
and delivers appropriate treatment.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides
information about community support groups and other resources.
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and
medical gas cylinders.
Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative
maintenance and calibration of machines.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should be a graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy and be a
registered Respiratory Therapist In North Carolina. Additional requirements
include
· Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
· ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
· One year of experience preferred
· ACLS certification preferred

Key Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist will measure lung capacity, analyze blood samples, and deliver ordered respiratory therapies to patients. They are also responsible for monitoring patient conditions, responding to emergency codes, and maintaining clinical equipment.
Requirements
Applicants must be a graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy and hold a valid registration in North Carolina. Basic Life Support certification is required, with ACLS and PALS certifications expected within six months of hire.
