Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Qualifications & Responsibilities
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant license, or eligible to obtain licensure by the anticipated start date One year of experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply Pediatric experience preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus Responsibilities: Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with physician-approved plans of care Implement treatment plans to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, range of motion, endurance, gait, and functional independence Educate and train families and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, positioning, mobility techniques, and home programs Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising Physical Therapist Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
