Speech Pathologist II

Job Summary

The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Speech Pathologist 2) works with pediatric patients across the age continuum – infants, children, adolescents – and from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds providing both direct and indirect patient care services. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Speech-Language Pathologist plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments.

Services include patient evaluations using speech-language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech-language pathology scope of practice.

The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services.

While performing job duties, the Staff Speech-Language Pathologist may also supervise support personnel including Rehabilitation Aides as well as Speech-Language Pathology students and clinical fellows.

The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including quality and performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities.
