Assistant Professor - Hospitalist

We are seeking dynamic and motivated Hospitalist Faculty to join the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. This is a unique academic position that offers the opportunity to work in a leading-edge quaternary care referral center—Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH); a level one trauma center recognized nationally for its excellence across numerous specialties.

This position will provide medical care to patients in a hospital setting. May be involved with the clinical rating of medical students/residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients in a hospital setting.
• Collaborate with nursing, office staff, administration in patient care.
• Collaborate with faculty peers, nursing and support staff.
• Participate in academic/clinical /research activities as needed.
• Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows, and staff.
• Participate in committees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chair.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
• MD, MB, or MBBA

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Hospital Medicine Experience in an academic setting working with residents and fellows.
