We are currently in need of a Physical Therapist (PT) for a part-time assignment at a correctional facility located in Lancaster, California.

This position offers a consistent Thursday and Friday schedule, competitive $80 per hour pay, and the opportunity to provide essential rehabilitation services within California's correctional healthcare system.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist will provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to patients within a correctional healthcare setting.

Working under the direction of designated facility medical leadership, the Physical Therapist will provide evidence-based physical therapy services within the scope of California licensure and in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and established standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy evaluations and provide treatment consistent with the scope of California PT licensure and generally accepted evidence-based physical therapy practices.

• Evaluate patients referred for physical therapy services and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.

• Provide physical therapy services based on physician referrals and orders or through direct access when appropriate for an existing and documented diagnosis.

• Communicate treatment plans, goals, recommendations, and progress to patients and appropriate members of the healthcare team.

• Provide scheduled and as-needed physical therapy evaluations and treatments as directed by facility medical leadership.

• Monitor patients' response to treatment and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

• Document initial assessments, evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required clinical information using approved documentation systems and forms.

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and complete required charting on a daily basis.

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

• Remain available for clinical consultation while on duty at the facility.

• Provide services in accordance with policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current and active California Physical Therapist (PT) license

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

• Ability to provide physical therapy services within the scope of California licensure

• Strong clinical evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation skills

• Ability to maintain timely and accurate patient records

• Ability to successfully complete all required credentialing, background clearance, health screening, and facility onboarding requirements

• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team

• Ability to work professionally within a correctional healthcare environment

Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $80.00 per hour

Part-Time: 20 hours per week

Regular Schedule

• Thursday & Friday
• 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Two 10-hour shifts per week
