Overview
JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Services Nurse Practitioner provides leadership for the Chest Pain Center and incorporates other departments and modalities to promote excellence in cardiac patient care. This position will lead the planning development and implementation of Chest Pain Center accreditation program including development of goals and ongoing operations. The role encompasses the coordination and oversight of the ongoing CQI process to improve care of the cardiac patient population.
The NP will work under the supervision of the Director of Cardiovascular Services and the general supervision of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Medical Director to deliver stress testing to an age specific population including adults and geriatric patients. This includes confering directly with the ordering physician and responding to calls from staff regarding stress tests that are ordered.
The NP will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures of San Antonio Regional Hospital as well as the regulatory guidelines and laws defined by the California Board of Registered Nurses and the California Medical Board, as well as any other federal and state regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited NP program.
Experience: At least 3 years involved in the direct care of the ACS patient in the ED, Cath Lab, CCU or Telemetry Departments.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Able to manage/prioritize/complete multiple assignments and other duties as assigned to meet deadlines. Able to work independently in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision. Able to accept flexible job assignments as conditions change.
License/Certifications: RN license with CA BRN; Advanced Practice - Family Nurse Practitioner License with CA BRN. American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS & BLS is required. Credentialed through the Medical Staff process for Allied Health.
Equipment: Equipment appropriate to specialty area. Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.
PAY RANGE
$61.30 - $91.96
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited NP program and hold a valid California RN and Family Nurse Practitioner license. At least 3 years of direct care experience in ACS, ED, Cath Lab, CCU, or Telemetry departments is required.
