Job description

It is Adjuvant's vision to be the nation’s leading oncological behavioral health provider. Our mission is to inspire hope through advancing mental wellness to cancer patients, their families and caregivers. We are looking for empathetic, experienced mental health professionals to come along side us in this endeavor!

This is a fully remote position.

Pay: $66/hr

This role begins as a 1099 contractor position. After 90 days and averaging 25 hours a week, you will have the option to transition into a W2 role.

Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the mission of the clinic, a therapist will seek to facilitate hope and change in the lives of their clients who have been affected by cancer. A therapist is responsible for accepting referrals and maintaining a client load (minimum 18 hours per week).

Primary Responsibilities

Counsel clients or patients individually and/or within family sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes. Make internal referrals to IOP if little to no improvement occurs within 8 weeks of OP therapy. Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establishing SMART goals with the patient. Treatment plans are to be developed 72 hours after intake and updated / modified every 4 weeks. Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including client diagnostic records and progress notes. Progress notes are to be developed 48 hours after every session. Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports. Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition, based on review of client information. Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans within 2 days of establishing care with the existing patient. Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary. Learn about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Masters Degree from an accredited college or university Two years of professional level experience in a counselor setting Active Licensed Professional Counselor license in Virginia is required

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years experience in healthcare with oncology 1 year experience in Telehealth Settings

Key Responsibilities

The therapist will provide individual and family counseling to cancer patients while developing and implementing personalized treatment plans. They are responsible for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and collaborating with staff to ensure effective patient care.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree and an active Licensed Professional Counselor license in Virginia. A minimum of two years of professional counseling experience is required, with preference given to those with oncology and telehealth backgrounds.
