Job Description
Periodontist: Associate-to-Partner Succession Opportunity, Tucson, Arizona
Tucson, AZ | Full-Time, Monday–Thursday | 100% Fee-for-Service | Established Referral Base | Future Ownership
Practicing in Riverside and tired of fighting for referrals? A highly respected Tucson periodontal practice is looking for a full-time Periodontist with a defined path to partnership. The founder spent more than two decades building the reputation and referral network and is now planning for retirement.
This opening isn't about growth. It's a succession opportunity, with a busy surgical schedule, a three-week new-patient wait and a defined ownership framework already in place.
- The practice at a glance
- About $2 million in annual practice production
- About $15,000 in current doctor production per clinical day
- 100% fee-for-service, with about 80% case acceptance
- About a 3-week wait for new patients
- A high-level GP referral network built over decades, and a 4.9-star Google reputation
- 5 fully equipped operatories with Planmeca CBCT, Dexis digital radiography and Dentrix
- IV sedation capability, surgical monitoring, BioHorizons implants, and kits supporting several other systems
- A third-party anesthesia provider available when appropriate
- The work
- Periodontal surgery and implant placement
- Surgical extractions, bone grafting and sinus lifts
- Implant-related procedures and full-mouth rehabilitation
- IV sedation and complex interdisciplinary treatment planning
The Team
- 4 dental assistants, 1 hygienist and dedicated assistant support
- Office manager, front office support and regional operational support
- Low turnover, with an average tenure of about five years
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, about 7:30 AM–5:00 PM. No routine Friday hours, and evening and weekend coverage is generally limited to emergencies.
Ownership
The owner is actively planning for the practice's future and wants a Periodontist who may become an equity partner. Potential equity generally ranges from about 20% to 40%, valued on an EBITDA multiple, so it's a defined framework rather than a vague promise. Timing, percentage and terms depend on mutual fit and the final structure.
What You Need
- DDS or DMD and completed specialty training in periodontics
- An Arizona dental license, or the ability to obtain one
- Strong periodontal surgical skills and interest in implants and comprehensive surgical care
- The ability to build and maintain strong referring-doctor relationships
- Experienced periodontists and new graduates are both encouraged to apply
Compensation
Production-based, with the full package discussed during interviews. Benefits include medical insurance, 401(k), malpractice coverage and established organizational support.
