Counselor-Behavioral

Purpose

The Counselor is responsible for providing individual, group therapy, family therapy, psychosocial assessment and discharge planning for the patients in the Outpatient/Inpatient Mental Health Department. In addition, the Counselor administers psychological testing, prepares reports for the Medical Record and provides counseling services the Employee Assistance Program.

Responsibilities

Psychosocial history assessment Conducts psycho-education group Conducts individual therapy Participates in discharge planning Conducts family therapy Facilitates Group Psychotherapy On Outpatient basis, will formulate a diagnosis and initiate treatment appropriate to that diagnosis.

Masters Degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling or Social Work

Two (2) years experience in Mental Health counseling preferred and Board Certified or Board Certified eligible.

Employment contingent upon successful completion of: 1. Physical 2. Background Check Must be physically able to perform all job duties as assigned.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Preferred and Board Certified or Board Certified eligible.
