Job Description
- SUMMARY OF POSITION
- Provide therapy to clients while maintaining good clinical judgement.
Carry caseloads of 6 clients. Providing therapy 2-3x a week to client's ages 3-18. Completing 1 session with client, 1 session with guardian, 1 family session.
Sessions are held in the client's home, at school, workplace, public setting etc.
Work hours are 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. Administrative work includes daily notes, monthly CarePlan updates, and staying up to date with ROI's and other paperwork.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Documentation
- Care plans reviewed and updated.
- Progress notes completed within current agency guidelines.
Responds to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads. This includes telephones and face to face intervention.
Keeps administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organization.
- Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision making regarding consumers.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to successfully utilize computer/electronic equipment and software
Qualifications
Education Requirements
A Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling
- License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
- OR
Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria:
Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.
- Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas:
- Clinical treatment and treatment planning
- Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
- Psychopathology
Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting
Experience Requirements
A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders is required, and substance use disorders experience preferred.
- Internship experience may be applied toward the minimum experience requirement for recent graduates.
