Horizon Veterinary Specialists is a rapidly growing, fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital located in beautiful Ventura, California. Horizon was founded in August of 2018 by five board certified veterinarians who want to inspire positive change in the veterinary community for their patients and for all the incredible professionals who dedicate themselves to veterinary medicine. With a state-of-the-art facility and a focus on positive, inclusive, and educational culture, the Horizon Partners have built a team of kind-hearted, dedicated, and motivated professionals to serve each other, our patients, and the community members of beautiful Ventura.
Horizon’s emergency and critical care team provides services 24/7 to small animal patients of Ventura and the surrounding counties. Our emergency department supports walk-in emergencies as well as referrals from the primary veterinarian community. We have a large, fully equipped, multi-unit ICU with a separate room for isolation and a room just for cats. Our emergency department team is fortunate to have access to internal medicine services six days a week, for supportive services and consultation.

Job Description
Horizon is looking for a knowledgeable and eager Emergency Veterinarian who approaches their role with kindness and dedication and is ready to join the Horizon Emergency & Critical Care Team!
If emergency surgery is your passion, you will find ample opportunities to pursue this, as well as many other aspects of veterinary medicine. We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, confidence, who is detail oriented and diligent. The veterinarian in this position must possess excellent communication skills, approaching each patient and client with kindness and understanding, sensitive to the vast variety of situations that an emergency veterinarian encounters.

- Compensation Range- $155,000-175,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
- DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in California.
- Previous experience in emergency or critical care preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to client education.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment.
