Job Description

Company Description

Animal Medical Center of Brookhaven is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Brookhaven, Mississippi, a friendly southwest Mississippi town known as "The Homeseeker's Paradise." Our practice has been part of this community since 1976, and we care for both companion animals and local farm animals. If you want variety in your caseload, a close-knit team, and a place where you can actually get to know your clients, we'd love to meet you.

About the Role

Join a respected mixed animal hospital that has grown from its roots as a primarily large animal practice into a full-service hospital for pets and livestock.

Full- or Part-time Schedule Available

  • A varied caseload, from wellness visits and surgery to urgent care, with the chance to work with both small and large animals
  • Digital radiography and integrated systems to support good medicine
  • Boarding and grooming services that keep clients coming back
  • Competitive salary + production, relocation assistance, and a full benefits package
  • A supportive team of veterinarians, technicians, and staff who work like a family

Why Brookhaven?

Brookhaven is the kind of town where people wave, the downtown is full of character, and the outdoors are never far.

"The Homeseeker's Paradise." Brookhaven's historic downtown centers on Railroad Park and its restored Union Station depot, surrounded by local restaurants, boutiques, and shops. The famous Homeseeker's Paradise sign still lights up downtown.

Mississippi's most Victorian street. Stroll South Jackson Street and the Historic Victorian District to see the beautifully preserved mansions, then visit the Foster-Smith Log Cabin, built in 1825 and now open for tours.

Lake Lincoln State Park is about 20 to 30 minutes away, with boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, hiking, camping, and an 18-hole disc golf course. Percy Quin State Park is also a short drive away.

Homochitto National Forest and area wildlife management areas offer hiking, camping, and some of the best hunting and fishing in the region.

A local tea farm. The Great Mississippi Tea Company, one of the largest tea farms in North America, is just outside town and offers tours and tastings.

Theater, festivals, and the arts. The Brookhaven Little Theatre has been performing for more than 50 years, the Mississippi School of the Arts is in town, and the annual Ole Brook Festival brings the community together every fall.

Great local eats. Janie's Pastry Shop has been serving Brookhaven since 1939, and downtown has plenty of local favorites.

Rodeos and livestock shows. The Brookhaven-Lincoln County Multi-Use Facility hosts rodeos and shows, which is a great way to meet the large animal side of the community.

Golf and recreation. Play a round at Ole Brook Golf Club, Wolf Hollow, or nearby courses, or join a local league through Brookhaven Parks and Recreation.

Close to bigger cities. Jackson and Natchez are each about an hour away, and New Orleans is under two hours, so big-city weekends are easy while home stays peaceful and affordable.
