Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • 1. Current or temporary physical therapist licensure in the applicable state where services will be performed:

MD: Physical Therapist License OR Physical Therapist Temporary License through Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners OR Physical Therapist Compact License

OH: Physical Therapist License through Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training Board OR Physical Therapist Compact License

PA: Physical Therapist License OR Temporary Physical Therapist License through Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy OR Physical Therapist Compact License

WV: Physical Therapist License OR Physical Therapist Temporary License through West Virginia Board of Physical Therapists OR Physical Therapist Compact License

2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

1. One (1) year of physical therapist experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Provides coordinated and comprehensive patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team approach.

2. Applies research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, and then prevent or treat conditions that limit the body's ability to move and function in daily life as monitored by supervision, by documentation review, and consultation with M. D.

3. Carries out oversight responsibilities to ensure supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.

4. Participates in meeting the goals and objectives of the work unit and department to ensure that the department contributes to the attainment of the hospital’s organization's goals and objectives.

5. Supervision of physical therapy students and volunteers. Will provide supervision of therapy assistants in accordance with regulatory standards.

6. Submits accurate charges for services rendered for patients, according to departmental policies and procedures utilizing the billing system via the patient’s EMR.

For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements

1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

1. The national Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient’s profile and appropriate algorithms. 2. Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.

3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

· Ten Level 3 Proficiencies required annually (if you have a certification).

· Five Level 3 Proficiencies required annually.

Level 4

· Meets requirements for previous levels.

· Eight years of experience.

· Ten Level 4 Proficiencies.

· Five Level 4 Proficiencies required annually.

· Professional Certification.

Level 5

· Meets requirements for previous levels.

· Ten years of experience.

· Ten Level 5 Proficiencies.

· Five Level 5 Proficiencies required annually.

· Professional Certification.
