EMS of Virginia is seeking dedicated, compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) to provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults throughout the Greater Richmond area.

Service Areas: Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Hanover, and surrounding communities.

Since 2005, EMS of Virginia has provided individualized, community-based mental health services to individuals and families throughout Central Virginia. As a boutique-style mental health agency, we pride ourselves on taking a personalized approach to both client care and employee support.

This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients, help them develop practical skills, and support lasting improvements in their daily lives.

Compensation

EMS of Virginia offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $22.00 to $29.00 per hour, based on qualifications, relevant experience, and professional credentials.

Eligible employees may also receive additional compensation through our client and employee referral incentive programs.

  • Help clients develop coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, independent living skills, and other skills aligned with their treatment goals.
  • Assist clients with accessing community resources, attending appointments, and developing support systems.
  • Coordinate with families, providers, and community partners to support continuity of care.

Documentation and Clinical Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update individualized service plans.
  • Complete accurate and timely progress notes for all client sessions.
  • Prepare quarterly reports and other required clinical documentation.
  • Provide information necessary for service authorizations and continued care.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultations, and team meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
  • Ability to provide services independently in clients' homes and community settings.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Commitment to providing ethical, compassionate, and individualized mental health services.

Preferred

Experience providing Intensive In-Home Services, Mental Health Skill Building Services, or other community-based mental health services.

Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families experiencing mental health challenges.

Individuals pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
